Purpose – Drew Charter School serves as a key component of the cradle-to-college pipeline within the holistic East Lake neighborhood revitalization. Appreciating our unique status as a mixed-income school, Drew Charter School’s primary purpose is to provide an excellent education to all children living in the Villages of East Lake so that each student reaches his or her full potential and is launched on a pathway to health, impact and prosperity.

First Event of the School Year!
  • July 31st First Day of School (Student Orientation)
  • August 2nd Midnight Madness
  • August 5th Blazer Ceremony
  • August 30th – Half-day (Conferences)**
    • Grade Level Counselors will reach out to targeted families for appointments.
    • Parents without appointments are encouraged to attend the grade level information session for updates and crucial information. Typically from 1:00 pm- 1:30 pm; be on the lookout for more details as the date gets closer.
      • NOTE: If you wish to have a meeting, it will be scheduled after this date. To schedule the meeting send an email to the grade level counselor requesting for the meeting. Address the subject line as “Request for Parent Conference

Uniform Concerns!

Families who still have not received their orders:

Please forward a copy or screenshot of the confirmation information to and with the students’ name in the subject line.

Note: Students are still expected to be in uniform: Khakis, white button-down and tie are required.

– Khakis and button downs can be purchased outside of the Tommy Hilfiger.
– Ties will be onsite and for sell at the school store tomorrow morning!

    • Parents be sure to order as soon as possible; the estimated time of delivery is 2-3 weeks from the day you order.

      • 9th Grade ONLY: Students are expected to bring their blazers on the first day of school, July 31st.
        • Students should bring their blazers to school inside of a plastic bag with their names on the outside of the bag.
        • It will also be helpful to write the students name on a sheet of paper to include inside the bag.
  • The BLAZER will be required for the Blazer Day Ceremony scheduled for August 5, 2019.
    • Parents are welcome to come to this event!

Rising Seniors!

  • Students must sit for pictures in order to be included in the yearbook.
  • Please note the scheduled picture day has passed.
    • To be photographed You must call SCORE to secure a make-up session from there they will be able to provide more details regarding logistics on the day of your appointment.

Update for Students:

  • Summer Reading List –  Attached is the link to access summer reading materials for students who signed up for AP classes next school year.
  • Drew Opportunity Fund – In recognition of Mr. Don Doran, Head of School, and his decade of leadership we are delighted to announce the launch of the Drew Opportunity Fund. Join us in thanking Mr. Doran for his years of service by making a donation in his honor today! Learn more
  • Paying Lunch Balances – Please note that Drew JA/SA academies do not offer free lunch without the completion of the Federal Eligibility Application; this must be completed each school year. To monitor student nutrition activity visit  The site allows users with an outstanding balance to settle accounts, add additional funds, and to set limits.  
    • Until you receive a letter or notice of approval after completing the Federal Eligibility Application your student(s) account will still be charged the full price for each meal received.
    • Applications will be released the first week of school.
      • Should you have questions regarding your students status AFTER COMPLETION OF THE APPLICATION, you may call Nutrition at 404-802-2540.
