Welcome to the Senior Academy! We are tremendously excited to work with your student during the 2019‐2020 school year.
At Charles Drew Charter School, we take pride in the teaching we provide for our children. Our teachers and staff members work very hard to meet the needs of all students to ensure they achieve their highest potential. An important part of Charles Drew Charter School SA’s success is parent participation; we are excited to meet you and your student on July 29th from 11 am to 1 pm for your Senior Academy Meet and Greet.

- Parents without appointments are encouraged to attend the grade level information session for updates and crucial information. Typically from 1:00 pm- 1:30 pm; be on the lookout for more details as the date gets closer.

- Parents be sure to order as soon as possible; the estimated time of delivery is 2-3 weeks from the day you order.

- 9th Grade ONLY: Students are expected to bring their blazers on the first day of school, July 31st.
- Students should bring their blazers to school inside of a plastic bag with their names on the outside of the bag.
- It will also be helpful to write the students name on a sheet of paper to include inside the bag.

Rising Seniors!
- Students must sit for pictures in order to be included in the yearbook.
- Please note the scheduled picture day has passed.
- To be photographed You must call SCORE to secure a make-up session from there they will be able to provide more details regarding logistics on the day of your appointment.

- Paying Lunch Balances – Please note that Drew JA/SA academies do not offer free lunch without the completion of the Federal Eligibility Application; this must be completed each school year. To monitor student nutrition activity visit www.MySchoolBucks.com. The site allows users with an outstanding balance to settle accounts, add additional funds, and to set limits.
- Until you receive a letter or notice of approval after completing the Federal Eligibility Application your student(s) account will still be charged the full price for each meal received.
- Applications will be released the first week of school.
- Should you have questions regarding your students status AFTER COMPLETION OF THE APPLICATION, you may call Nutrition at 404-802-2540.
