- The Junior Academy, Mr. Leaphart, Ms. Ali, Ms. Bryant, Mr. Boonyapat and everyone else who worked to achieve STEAM certification from the Georgia Department of Education, which was officially conferred last Thursday at an awesome banner ceremony!
- Ms. Smith, who joins us as a new STEAM Team member, orchestrating the STEAM Trunks and helping with STEAM programming!
- The new Beta Club inductees and to the Beta Club officers and Ms. McKenzie for organizing the induction ceremony on Wednesday!
- Seniors Chloe Cannada, Collin Chunn, Kenyetta Akowa, Trinity Mosley, Mariela Santillan-Guerrero, and Parker Freeman for helping support our Early College Night by sharing their experiences with rising seniors and parents!
- Senior Niara Botchwey who is one of only 5 students across the South to receive The SACAC Horizon Award, a $1000 college scholarship! As a matching award, Niara selected Emily H. to receive $1,000 to be used towards professional development opportunities.
- Senior Peyton Rodgers, who was one of 150 students nationally to receive a $20,000 Coca-Cola Scholarship, selected from over 95,000 applicants!
- Junior Laquincia Smith for being admitted into Camp Ignite an initiative for women with a mission to encourage more female firefighters!
- Freshman Angel Jones, who volunteered to help lead prospective parent tours!
- Dr. Allen, Ms. Davis, Mr. Bennett, Mr. Kitchen, Ms. McIntyre, Ms. Cook and ninth grade student volunteers for organizing and planning our Rising 9th Grade Transition Night!
- Ms. Young, who has been selected to serve on the SACAC Board of Directors for a three year term! SACAC is a professional association that supports best practices in college admissions and brings together both admissions and college counseling professionals.
- Ms. Herman, who was identified and nominated by Caltech University to attend the 2019 Fitzwilliam Summit for Emerging Leaders in the College Admission and Secondary School Counseling Profession!
- Ms. Vaughn for engaging her students in writing content for their upcoming performance and for an awesome performance at the STEAM certification ceremony!
- Ms. Stinson for planning and organizing Early College Parent Night!

- Design-o-Rama Call for Volunteers – We are seeking participants to support our theme of SHELTER. - SA PTA Parent Gatherings – On January 17th, we hosted our monthly PTA Senior Academy Parent Gathering on the topic of “Student Portfolios.” These gatherings typically occur every third Thursday of the month, alternating between 8:15 am and 5:00 pm. Our next Gathering will be held on Thursday, March 21st at 8:15 am and the topic will be Restorative Practices.

- Lottery Application Window for New Students – Applications for new students are open now. If your student has a sibling who is interested in attending Drew, the lottery application window for potential new students is from February 1, 2019 – April 30, 2019. The online application are available on Drew’s website and all qualifying applications will be included in the lottery on May 9th. Please note that the lottery is for potential new students only; all current Drew students will have the opportunity to re-enroll in March (more details to come). - Re-enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year is March 18-29, 2019!
