- Reminder: STEAM Opportunity – For Atlanta area high school students with an interest in Aerospace, applications for ASTRO (Aerospace Summer Training & Research Opportunity at SpaceWorks) summer internships are now open. ASTRO participants work in a team of six to solve Aerospace Engineering design problems through a challenging yet fun-filled experience. Application deadline is March 2, 2018 for summer 2018.
- YMCA Healthy Kids Day (4/21) – The East Lake YMCA is holding their annual Healthy Kids Day celebration on Saturday, April 21. As part of the festivities, they are offering young entrepreneurs (ages 5-16) the chance to sell their wares, without having to pay anything to rent their table/booth. Do you know any “kid entrepreneurs” at Drew who would be interested in this? If you know of any students who are young entrepreneurs, please have them reach out to Jervonia Melton directly (jervoniam@ymcaatlanta.org).
- Reminder: Georgia Parent Survey – The Georgia Parent Survey contains 24 questions and may be completed using personal computers, smartphones or tablets. All parents should participate in the Georgia Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis.
