Purpose – Drew Charter School serves as a key component of the cradle-to-college pipeline within the holistic East Lake neighborhood revitalization. Appreciating our unique status as a mixed-income school, Drew Charter School’s primary purpose is to provide an excellent education to all children living in the Villages of East Lake so that each student reaches his or her full potential and is launched on a pathway to health, impact and prosperity.

Vision – Drew Charter School students are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and passion to create positive change in the world.

Mission – Drew Charter School is an exemplary, innovative education community that empowers all students to achieve their full potential.

Senior Academy Priorities for the Year

  1. A school where character and school culture are developed through positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the community.
  2. A school where we facilitate high quality STEAM/PBL learning, and everyone understands how these principles and practices prepare students for postsecondary success.
  3. A school that supports all students’ intellectual, social, and emotional growth and understands how these elements impact learning and development.

  • Drew Charter PTA Nominating Committee Members Needed – The Nominating Committee Election will be held on January 25, 2018 at 6:00 pm at the PTA General Body Meeting.  The purpose of the Nominating Committee is to recognize and seek qualified nominees for the elected leadership of the PTA. The members of the committee have a tremendous influence on the future of the PTA and should be selected carefully. The Drew Charter PTA Nominating Committee will be elected on January 25, 2018 and will spend the two months after that identifying and vetting qualified individuals who the Nominating Committee will recommend become our elected PTA Executive Board for the 2018-2019 school year.  Nominating Committee members should have a broad acquaintance with the membership and an understanding of the organization’s functions and its purposes. The committee should include both experienced as well as newer members.  Nominations for the Nominating Committee will be accepted November 16, 2017 through January 11, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. in writing:

You must provide contact information in the form of valid email or phone for your nominee.  You can nominate yourself.  If you nominate someone else, you must also provide contact information for that nominee as the PTA Secretary must verify his or her acceptance.  All potential nominees must also be verified as current members of the Drew PTA to be placed on the ballot in January.

  • PTA Summer Expo – The PTA Parent Resources Team at Drew Charter School will be hosting its 4th Annual Summer Camp Expo on Saturday, February 3, 2018 in the school’s Upper Campus Cafeteria from 10 am – 1 pm, and we would love for your organization to attend to provide information about your summer programs for youth. We are seeking programs for a variety of ages, in a variety of interests, and in a variety of price ranges.  Your program does not have to provide a traditional “camp” (though we do want a majority of our programs to host traditional camps), but can instead offer lessons weekly or on an individual basis to youth as well.  Basically, if your program will be providing some kind of programming for youth this summer, we want you there!  The Expo is free to both programs and attendees, but voluntary donations are requested from our participating programs if the program is able to afford it to help the PTA cover the custodial and other expenses it is charged for hosting the event. (Suggested donation is $25 or a camp registration to be used in our Annual Silent Auction Fundraiser. If your organization is able, please indicate it on the registration form, and we will be in touch to follow-up.) Program Vendors Register Here:  https://form.jotform.com/73303614684153
