Week of April 24th, 2017

Purpose – Drew Charter School serves as a key component of the cradle-to-college pipeline within the holistic East Lake neighborhood revitalization. Appreciating our unique status as a mixed-income school, Drew Charter School’s primary purpose is to provide an excellent education to all children living in the Villages of East Lake so that each student reaches his or her full potential and is launched on a pathway to health, impact and prosperity.

Shout Outs to. . .

  • Niara Botchwey and Chelsea Clark for being selected to the prestigious Project ENGAGES program at Georgia Tech!  They will spend their junior and senior years and summers being paid to work in a lab at Georgia Tech!
  • The Track Team for their hard work and performance at the Area Meet on Monday!
  • The Boys and Girls Tennis Teams for winning to advance to the second round of the State Tournament!
  • The Boys and Girls Golf Teams for being undefeated in the regular season!  Good luck in the postseason!
  • All of the new Beta Club inductees, Ms. Manwell and everyone else who contributed to the induction ceremony!
  • Ms. Might and her students for organizing Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A to raise funds for their Peru trip!
  • Gloria Kitchens, Zoe Andrews and Ms. Ulbrich for being recognized at the APS Val/Sal/STAR Student breakfast on Wednesday!
  • Ms. Foster and Ms. Stinson for all of their work supporting students and coordinating with GSU for the Early College programs!
  • All of the performers, artists, tech crew, Ms. Harris, Mr. Mather and all of the STEAM teachers who contributed to Space is the New Place: FLoW Friday Night!  It was awesome [see picture above]!
