Shout Outs!

 

  • To Zoe Andrews for earning the distinction of STAR Student for having the highest SAT score in the school and to Ms. Ulbrich for being selected by Zoe as STAR Teacher!
  • To DeGreer Harris and Asia Foster for winning gold and bronze keys respectively at the Regional Science and Engineering Fair!  DeGreer will go on to compete at the State Fair at the end of March!
  • Mr. McCullough for his work on advisory and peer mentoring!
  • Ms. Woodlee for her continued advocacy on behalf of students!

Announcements:

  • Men Needed: Spring Mentorship Kick-Off – We are planning a 2017 mentoring kickoff event for this Friday morning [see calendar above.] The event will take place in the SA cafeteria where we will serve Chick-fil-A biscuits.  We need MEN to help out on this day. After we serve the chicken biscuits we’ll have some guided small group conversation let by Drew Charter men.  If you are interested, please contact Akil Rashid akil.rashid@drewcharterschool.org.
  • Georgia Parent Survey – The Georgia Parent Survey is modeled after the student survey and contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphones or tablet.  All parents should be encouraged to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis.
  • STEAM Day and DESIGNORAMA (March 17-18th) – We are seeking participants to support our theme of USER EXPERIENCE (the design of anything with the end user in mind–anything from urban planning to small batch dog treats). Please help us recruit professionals and hobbyists that can show off what they do and host activities that involve attendees in the process of making something. Please direct interested folks to our website: http://steamatdrew.weebly.com/designorama.html
  • Reminder: Parent Committee Members – Parents/guardians, we need your help with several of our committees listed below.  If you are interested in working with a team of staff members on any of these initiatives, please complete the survey link here.  Committees will generally meet every third Monday at 4:15 pm.
