Greetings from the Senior Academy,

I hope each of you are enjoying your summer. I am excited for this upcoming school year and the honor to serve as the Senior Academy Principal. I wanted to send a sincere thank you to everyone that has been growing and learning with us in the Senior Academy. I also wanted to send a huge welcome to all of our rising ninth graders and new students to the Senior Academy.  This blog will be the main source of communication and resource center to both students and parents.

Please share with your friends and/or family members. You will be able to find pertinent dates, events, and updates here on this site- weekly. With that being said, be on the lookout for future events and make sure you check out the updates below for this school year.

Meet and Greet

  • Join us on Monday, July 29, 2019.
    • Come meet your student’s teacher(s) and receive their class schedule.

Uniform Needs!

  • Parents looking for uniform options can visit our online store with Tommy Hilfiger.
    • Parents be sure to order as soon as possible; the estimated time of delivery is 2-3 weeks from the day you order.
    • To reference the dress code for the Senior Academy, click here.
      • 9th Grade ONLY: Students are expected to bring their blazers on the first day of school, July 31st.
        • Students should bring their blazers to school inside of a plastic bag with their names on the outside of the bag.
        • It will also be helpful to write the students name on a sheet of paper to include inside the bag.
  • The BLAZER will be required for the Blazer Day Ceremony scheduled for August 5, 2019.
    • Parents are welcome to come to this event!

Rising Seniors!

  • Senior Pictures are right around the corner! You must call SCORE to be placed on the schedule for your Senior Pictures to be captured. Slips were passed out in the last community forum with details.
  • Pictures will be taken here at Drew July 17-19.  
    • Students must sit for these pictures in order to be included in the yearbook.
  • You must call SCORE to secure your spot on the schedule and to receive more details regarding logistics on the day of your appointment.
    • Be advised: an appointment is required, at this time the vendor cannot accommodate walk-in appointments ; if you haven’t had a chance to secure your spot you can reach SCORE at 770-516-5880.

If an appointment is not made for the dates listed above then makeups will be taken in the photographer’s studio located in Kennesaw, GA. We arranged for pictures to be taken over the summer at Drew because we felt this arrangement would be significantly more convenient for our families.

  • Drew Opportunity Fund – In recognition of Mr. Don Doran, Head of School, and his decade of leadership we are delighted to announce the launch of the Drew Opportunity Fund. Join us in thanking Mr. Doran for his years of service by making a donation in his honor today! Learn more
  • Paying Lunch Balances – Please note that Drew JA/SA academies do not offer free lunch without the completion of the Federal Eligibility Application; this must be completed each school year. To monitor student nutrition activity visit www.MySchoolBucks.com.  The site allows users with an outstanding balance to settle accounts, add additional funds, and to set limits.  
    • Until you receive a letter or notice of approval after completing the Federal Eligibility Application your student(s) account will still be charged the full price for each meal received.
    • Applications will be released the first week of school.
      • Should you have questions regarding your students status AFTER COMPLETION OF THE APPLICATION, you may call Nutrition at 404-802-2540.
