Summer Announcements for 2019-2020 School Year

Purpose – Drew Charter School serves as a key component of the cradle-to-college pipeline within the holistic East Lake neighborhood revitalization. Appreciating our unique status as a mixed-income school, Drew Charter School’s primary purpose is to provide an excellent education to all children living in the Villages of East Lake so that each student reaches his or her full potential and is launched on a pathway to health, impact and prosperity.

Community Service Opportunity!

  • Drew is in need of assistance this summer; if interested click on the link below to submit interest for this community service opportunity.
  • Details:
    • 2 week opportunity –> Hours: 8am to 4pm
      • One Hour Lunch Break; be sure to bring your lunch daily.
    • Description of Work: In preparation for the new school year the maintenance team is in need of assistance moving Drew property to various locations. Lifting is a major daily activity; however, items are not to exceed 25 pounds.
      • Those selected will report to the Maintenance and Facilities Manager.

  • Senior Pictures are right around the corner! You must call SCORE to be placed on the schedule for your Senior Pictures to be captured. Slips were passed out in the last community forum with details.
  • Pictures will be taken here at Drew July 17-19.  
    • Be advised: an appointment is required; if you haven’t had a chance to secure your spot you can reach SCORE at 770-516-5880. You must call SCORE to secure your spot on the schedule and to receive more details regarding logistics on the day of your appointment.

  • Paying Lunch Balances – Please note that Drew JA/SA academies do not offer free lunch without the completion of the Federal Eligibility Application completed each school year. To monitor student nutrition activity visit this website at  Any student with an outstanding balance can pay down the balance by using the website above, money can also be added to students’ accounts on the website.  
    • Until you receive a letter or notice of approval after completing the Federal Eligibility Application your student(s) account will still be charged the full price of meals.
    • Applications will be released the first week of school.
