WEEK 33

Dear Students and Families,

We are thrilled to extend an invitation to you and your family to join us for HBCU Night 2024, jointly hosted by Drew Charter School and Decatur High School. This exciting event will take place on Wednesday, March 20th, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the Drew Charter School Theater.

Prepare to be captivated as we showcase the rich tapestry of academic excellence and cultural heritage embodied by Historically Black Colleges and Universities. HBCU Night will feature admissions and scholarship presentations from five distinguished colleges and universities:

1. Alabama A&M University

2. Fort Valley State University

3. Howard University

4. Jackson State University

5. North Carolina Central University

These esteemed institutions will provide valuable insights into their academic programs, campus life, and unique campus traditions.

In addition to the informative presentations, we will celebrate the vibrant tradition of arts and culture on HBCU campuses with special performances by talented members of the Drew Charter Performing Arts Department. It’s sure to be a night filled with inspiration, education, and entertainment!

This event is free and open to the public, and we encourage registrants to share the invitation within their communities. To ensure we can accommodate everyone, please take a moment to fill out the registration form linked below if you plan on attending:

SENIOR ACADEMY RISING 9th GRADE NIGHT!

We hope to see you next year!

Lottery Application Window for Prospective New Students

Thank you to all the parent/guardians of rising 1st through 12th graders who have already submitted their student’s 2024-2025 re-enrollment!

If you have not yet done so, please complete your student’s re-enrollment ahead of 3 p.m. on March 18th to secure your student’s seat for the 2024-2025 school year.  Links to the online re-enrollment forms were sent to the emails on file for all enrolling parent/guardians. Please contact the Enrollment Team at enrollment@drewcharterschool.org if you did not receive this email. Students in transition grades (rising 6th and rising 9th) as well as any student who has moved and requires an address update will be required to submit current proof-of-residency documents as a part of their re-enrollment. For these students, there will be an option to upload proof-of-residency documents when completing the online re-enrollment form. Please note: Students currently in the Cox Pre-K Program should submit a 2024-2025 lottery application by April 30th to be included in the kindergarten lottery and do not complete re-enrollment.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation in completing your student’s re-enrollment. This information helps us determine how many seats to offer during our admissions lottery and ensure we have accurate, up-to-date information for all students. If you do NOT plan on your student returning to Drew next year, do not complete the re-enrollment form. Please let us know your plans by emailing enrollment@drewcharterschool.org. Additional re-enrollment information can be found here. Please contact us at enrollment@drewcharterschool.org or 404-450-0567 with any questions.

If your student has a sibling who is interested in attending Drew, or if your student currently attends Cox Pre-K at Drew and would like to enroll in Drew’s kindergarten, the lottery application for the 2024-2025 school year will be available on Drew’s website beginning February 1, 2024. All qualifying applications will be included in an admissions lottery on May 7th, 2024.

Please note that the lottery is for potential new students only. This includes students currently enrolled in the Cox Pre-K Program at Drew who would like to attend kindergarten at Drew. Re-enrollment for rising 1st through 12th graders will occur in March through a separate process (more details coming soon).

Additional lottery information can be found on our website. Please contact Mary Hartigan at 404-450-0567 or enrollment@drewcharterschool.org with any questions.

Have you moved?

If your family has moved, please help us stay up-to-date by completing this Address Update Request Form. You’ll be prompted to upload your new proof-of-residency documents when submitting the form. Remember that a student must reside in the Atlanta Public School district to remain eligible to attend Drew. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Enrollment at enrollment@drewcharterschool.org or 404-450-0567.

Join us on Wednesday, March 20, 2023 from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM for our 2nd Principal’s Coffee with Principal, Mr. Myers.
