WEEK 23

On Monday, January 15th, Drew will join the nation in taking a Day ON! Not a Day Off, by hosting families in service. This year we are excited to complete projects across both campuses to offer volunteers multiple ways to be of service. However, to properly prepare, volunteers will need to register for projects and project slots for the day.  Please use the form below (QR code) to indicate how you would like to volunteer with us.

SCHOOL WILL BE CLOSED ON MONDAY, JANUARY 15, 2024

Elevating Peace with Equitable Dinners and Drew Charter School

Reserve Your Ticket Here

Join us for an engaging evening of art and meaningful conversations, brought to you by the dedicated students of our Student Equity Committee. Together, let’s work towards building a more peaceful and inclusive community. We will host a short panel discussion with guests from an array of communities that are working to end hate in any form and our students will premiere a short play that they have written for the event as well. This is an in-person event that will include conversations co-facilitated with our Drew students, members of our Parent Equity Committee and Equitable Dinners facilitators. This event is intended to provide an authentic space for conversation, understanding and compassion for all. Dinner will be provided, but we invite guests to contribute, “potluck style”, to the meal with desserts or other side dish options (contributions are optional and not required for participation).

Have you moved?

If your family has moved, please help us stay up-to-date by completing this Address Update Request Form. You’ll be prompted to upload your new proof-of-residency documents when submitting the form. Remember that a student must reside in the Atlanta Public School district to remain eligible to attend Drew. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Enrollment at enrollment@drewcharterschool.org or 404-450-0567.

Join us on Wednesday, January 17, 2023 from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM for our 1st, 2nd Semester Principal’s Coffee with Principal, Mr. Myers.

Shoe Donation Fundraiser

The Charles R. Drew Charter School Fine Arts Department is conducting a shoe drive fundraiser from November 13th to February 2nd, to raise funds for a field trip to New York City. Drew Fine Arts will earn funds based on the total weight of the pairs of gently worn, used and new shoes collected, as Funds2Orgs will issue a check for the collected shoes. Those dollars will benefit our trip. Anyone can help by donating gently worn, used and new shoes at the front entrance at the lower and upper campus.

All donated shoes will then be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of micro-enterprise partners. Funds2Orgs works with micro-entrepreneurs in helping them create, maintain, and grow small businesses in developing countries where economic opportunity and jobs are limited. Proceeds from the sales of the shoes collected in shoe drive fundraisers are used to feed, clothe, and house their families. Please spread the word to your friends, families and throughout the community.
