The Charles R. Drew Charter School Fine Arts Department is conducting a shoe drive fundraiser from November 13th to February 2nd, to raise funds for a field trip to New York City. Drew Fine Arts will earn funds based on the total weight of the pairs of gently worn, used and new shoes collected, as Funds2Orgs will issue a check for the collected shoes. Those dollars will benefit our trip. Anyone can help by donating gently worn, used and new shoes at the front entrance at the lower and upper campus.
All donated shoes will then be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of micro-enterprise partners. Funds2Orgs works with micro-entrepreneurs in helping them create, maintain, and grow small businesses in developing countries where economic opportunity and jobs are limited. Proceeds from the sales of the shoes collected in shoe drive fundraisers are used to feed, clothe, and house their families. Please spread the word to your friends, families and throughout the community.
we are proud of what our students have accomplished. Atlanta Public Schools (APS) is celebrating a historic graduation rate of 86.6%. This marks the district’s highest all-time graduation rate and is the first time the district has surpassed the state’s rate by 2.2 percentage points. Additionally, we are delighted to report that Drew Charter School’s Senior Academy achieved a remarkable graduation rate of 98.4%. We thank our dedicated students, supportive families, and exceptional educators who make these remarkable outcomes possible. We look forward to working together as we strive to graduate and equip all students to be college, career, and life-ready.
Thank you for being part of our Drew Community!
