SUMMER BREAK SMELLS GREAT!

The East Lake Foundation is thrilled to bring back the Run for East Lake 5K & Fun Run on Saturday, August 5, 2023. The 5K race will start and finish at Charles R. Drew Charter School’s Junior and Senior Academy, and the race will weave through the beautiful East Lake community highlighting the Villages of East Lake, East Lake Family YMCA, Charlie Yates Golf Course, and much more. The route will also provide participants the unique opportunity to run through the back 9 holes of historic East Lake Golf Club, home of the TOUR Championship, which will take place August 23-27, 2023. The Fun Run (400-meter dash) will occur on the Charles R. Drew Charter School track and is open to all ages. Join neighbors and friends and explore the East Lake community while supporting the East Lake Foundation.

Our Partners at the East Lake Foundation presents a 1-day Summer Leadership Program that will introduce young adults to the insurance world.  The target audience is rising juniors and seniors in HS, and collage of students of any age.  The insurance industry is a large employer and there are some great risk management schools here in Georgia, including Georgia State and UGA.  Having said that, you do not need to be a risk management major to enter the industry.  The industry is looking for young talent with diverse educational backgrounds.

If you have a child that might be interested, please have them register with Sarah Magee at smagee@sspins.com.   Thank you for considering and we look forward to meeting everyone.

Drew Opportunity Fund

Did you know you could double (or even triple!) your donation to Drew Charter School?  Many companies will match charitable donations made by their employees.  See if your workplace offers a matching gift program here! #ForwardTogether

The Drew Opportunity Fund is delighted to announce its latest round of support!  Generous donations provided:

  • Seed funding for the morning shuttle pilot program
  • The cost of parent volunteer background checks
  • And, through gifts made in memory of beloved staff member Harold Woods, funding for 40 students to participate in the Book Fair!

We are currently raising funds to provide each grade with $250 for end of the year activities.  Help us keep up the good work by making a tax-deductible donation today! -> https://bit.ly/3HxCTH2
