It’s time for MAP testing! We appreciate your support and flexibility as we administer the MAP test virtually. All 9th and 10th grade and some 11th and 12th grade students will be testing in Reading and students taking Algebra or Geometry will be tested in Math. Students will participate in two test sessions over the course of the testing window- shown below.
To decrease the interruption of instructional time we are administering the MAP assessment on Wednesday’s. The dates and times for testing are below:
- Wednesday September 2nd – Reading
- Wednesday September 9th – Reading
- Wednesday September 16th – Math
- Wednesday September 23rd – Math
Clubs and Advisory will still occur at 11am on the dates above
We ask that students prepare by having the following items available in their workspace: scratch paper, pencil, headphones, and a fully charged device. It will be helpful to take the test in a quiet area away from other family members or distractions; if that is not possible, the use of headphones will assist with noise reduction. Please ensure that your student logs onto their Zoom test session on time. Your student’s ELA, Math, and/or instructional support teacher will provide them with their testing time and date. The Zoom link will be found in a private message in the student’s ELA and Math Google Classrooms on the day of testing.
Your student should work independently during the test session. Students are not permitted to use any resources to assist them during the test. We will invalidate test sessions in which support or answers are provided to students, as well as in response to any indication that a student is looking up answers or using other resources during testing as these are considered testing irregularities. We also request that parents are not present in the room with their student while they are taking the test in order to ensure that students are working independently and free of distractions. Test examiners will be monitoring the test sessions to troubleshoot and assist with any technical issues that may arise.
Please encourage your child to try their best on the assessment, we recognize this MAP administration will feel different for students and want them to feel as comfortable as possible. Please contact Dr. Allen or Mr. Myers with any questions. We look forward to a wonderful test administration!
